The Exciting World of Search Engines Optimization (SEO)
How Google became the household name for search engines
Let's start with a little reminiscence.
Search Engine Gurus in the house, gather here and let's have a chitchat.
In all honesty, 99% of the time, when optimizing your client's website or blog for search engines, which platform do you prioritize? I bet you Google.
Unless you are from Russia and China, where most users use their indigenous search engines (Yandex and Baidu), virtually everyone uses Google as their primary search engine.
And, even in Russia, about half of the population still uses Google as their primary search engine.
So it is honestly safe to say the whole search engine optimization industry is solely about Google. We may even stop calling it Search Engine Optimization and instead say Google Search Optimization.
I am sorry; I am only messing with you. But then, that is the truth.
Scaling past this general normalcy, I believe it is worth discussing how Google became the main search engine with over 92% market cap of the entire search engine industry worldwide.
Please don't give me the tales that they came early to the market. I can confidently refer you to the late almighty Yahoo search. Or perhaps I remind you of the recent burial we did for Blackberry early this year, January 4, 2022.
Simply put, Google gets the priority right - their users. Their customers.
Entrepreneurs, marketers, HR experts, and lastly, the general public, I believe you can now please join the conversation.

Understating the Headache Behind SEO with a simple story
Hi bloggers, please pay closer attention.
A couple of times, I have had to teach people the different parts of SEO, including on-page SEO, Offpage SEO, Technical SEO, SEO URL structure, and SEO writing. I often start with a short story. I will share it here; perhaps, I will use it to close my article. Oh, sorry, not now, Till we meet next time.
However, the simple breakdown below is worth more than the tip of an iceberg.
So...
To understand Google, you need to remember Google is a business with several competitors like Bing, Baidu, Yandex, Yahoo search, and several others.
To remain on top of the ladder as the biggest shareholder in the search engine business, Google understands that its primary assignment is to serve people who use their search engines with the best result.
Bloggers and website owners, I am sorry I have to burst your bubble here; Google does not care about you but their audience.
To serve their users the best quality content, Google actively researches how to give them the best content. Fast. Reliable. and Comprehensive.
And that is where you come in. To achieve this, Google constantly updates its algorithm to ensure the algorithm only serves the best result that answers its users' queries.
Oh! Is that all?
Well... It is worth mentioning that even these users are not usually conscious of this. But Google is. Because Google understands the importance of excellent user experience, else their competition takes advantage of them.
And this is why you will often see John Mueller and other creators at Google Search Central remind you to do what is best for your audience.
In other words, Google's primary goal is to serve its audience best. And if you can take note of this, I promise you that you wouldn't have to trouble yourself much with updates in the Google algorithm.
Everything is about the people. Everything!
